Sentencing delayed in Alabama woman's plot to finance terrorism

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBMA) — A former University of Alabama student who pleaded guilty to a charge of concealing terrorism financing will now be sentenced in early 2021.

It is the fourth time Alaa Mohd Abusaad's sentencing hearing is being delaying after she pleaded guilty in September 2019.

Court documents show Abusaad, who was arrested in 2018, communicated over messaging programs with a person she didn’t know was an undercover FBI employee.
